Wednesday March 25, 2020 – Ennismore, Ontario man charged with assault causing bodily harm

Domestic assault Arrest:

A 23-year-old Ennismore, Ontario man has been arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm following a domestic incident.

On March 25, 2020 at approximately 1:15 a.m. officers were dispatched to a Peterborough residence for an assault.  It was reported that while the accused and female victim were at the residence the accused assaulted the victim including grabbing her throat.

Officers located the accused still in the area and as a result of the investigation he was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily – choke, suffocate or strangle.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on June 4, 2020.

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.

Theft from vehicle:

The Peterborough Police Service is reminding residents to lock-it-or-lose-it following a theft from a vehicle on Barbara Crescent.

Sometime between 3:20 p.m. on March 22, 2020 and 10 a.m. on March 23, 2020 unknown person(s) broke into an unlocked vehicle parked at a Barbara Crescent home stealing a small amount of cash. The Peterborough Police Service reminds residents to take all valuables, including loose change, out of their vehicle and double-triple check to ensure their vehicle is locked and secured.

Break-in:

The Peterborough Police Service is asking anyone with information to come forward following thefts from the back porch of a Hunter Street home.

Sometime between 5 p.m. on March 17, 2020 and 7 a.m. on March 18, 2020 unknown person(s) entered a rear porch at a Hunter Street home stealing alcohol and food products. Another break-in occurred between 5 p.m. on March 23, 2020 and 5 p.m. on March 24, 2020 with the thieves again stealing food products from the porch,.
