Uttering Threats Arrest:

The accused and victim had been involved in a common law relationship but have been separated for over a year. On July 15, 2020 the victim attended a George Street grocery store. The accused was also at the store and began to follow the victim around inside the store.

The victim exited the store and was confronted by the accused in the parking lot. A verbal argument broke out between the two regarding the custody of their child. During the argument the accused threatened physical harm to the victim.

The police were contacted and initiated an investigation. On August 5, 2020 the accused was placed under arrest for uttering threats and held in custody.

The accused will appear for a bail hearing on August 6, 2020.

To protect the name of the victim in a domestic investigation the name of the accused is not being released.

Domestic Assault Arrest:

The accused and victim have been in a relationship for ten years. On August 5, 2020 at 10:30 pm police responded to a disturbance at a Cameron Street residence. Upon arrival police observed signs of an assault outside of the residence.

A male answered the door and officers noticed he was bleeding from the nose area. The male was being uncooperative with police. Officers further noticed blood on the floor and an intoxicated female inside.

Both parties were uncooperative and were attempting to persuade police nothing had occurred. Police were able to determine the female had assaulted the male earlier in the evening.

As a result the female was arrested on one count of assault. The accused was transported to the station and held for a bail hearing on August 6, 2020.

To protect the name of the victim in a domestic investigation the name of the accused is not being released.

Assault with Weapon Arrest:

On August 5, 2020 at 9:30 pm police responded to a Hunter Street West apartment regarding an assault that had taken place earlier.

The victim stated he had been involved in a verbal argument with one of his neighbors. At one point the neighbor attempted to strike the victim with a stick or sign. The victim went back into his apartment and the neighbor continued to hit the victim’s door with the object. Police were called.

Upon arrival police could hear the accused yelling obscenities at the police from his apartment window. Police spoke to the victim who advised if he didn’t close his apartment door the accused would have struck him in the face with the stick or sign.

Police attended the accused apartment and placed him under arrest for assault with a weapon. During the arrest the accused continued to yell and cause a disturbance. It appeared the accused was under the influence of an unknown substance.

Emerson Glasspool of Peterborough has been charged with assault with a weapon, breach of an undertaking and causing a disturbance. He was held in custody and will appear for a bail hearing on August 6, 2020.
