Cops and Kids Fishing Event

Hosted by the Peterborough Police Service and partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peterborough and the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, Cops and Kids is an annual event where local children on the waiting list at Big Brothers and Big Sisters are partnered with a police officer for a day of fishing and conservation education.

Funding for the event is provided by the Kids, Cops and Canadian Tire Fishing Day in conjunction with the Police Association of Ontario. Two of our officers, Constable McCullum and Constable Mason, organize this event each year.  Both are avid outdoorsmen who have shared their enjoyment of fishing with the children.  Twenty or so boys and girls have been selected each year since 2012.

Crime Stoppers

Crime Stoppers is a civilian, non profit, charitable organization that brings together the community, the police and the media in the fight against crime.

Crime Stoppers provides citizens with a vehicle to anonymously supply the police with information about a crime or potential crime of which they have knowledge. Cash rewards are offered to people who call the program and their information leads to an arrest.
