UPDATE: Fatal Pedestrian Motor Vehicle Collision

The Peterborough Police Service is requesting the public’s help in locating a second vehicle that was in the area when a pedestrian was struck and killed last Thursday evening in the City of Peterborough.

40-year-old Corey Johnston was killed in the incident which happened around 8:30 pm on George Street North on January 14th, 2021.

As part of the ongoing investigation, members of the Traffic Services Unit are now looking to identify a second vehicle that was in the area at the time of the incident.

The vehicle was observed to travel northbound on George Street, continuing north bound on Water Street before turning westbound onto King Street, southbound on George Street then west on Sherbrooke Street.

The Peterborough Police Service is also asking the owner/operator of the vehicle to contact police.

The vehicle is described as (pictures below):

  • charcoal grey
  • four door hatchback
  • black rims

Further, if anyone from the public is able to identify the owner or operator of the vehicle please contact Constable Pilling with the Peterborough Police Service at (705) 876-1122 ext 254. You can also report an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.stopcrimehere.ca
