Impaired Arrest:

A 22-year-old Peterborough woman has been arrested and charged following a single motor vehicle collision.

On September 5, 2020 at approximately 9:19 p.m. the accused was driving on Moore Drive approaching Highway 28 when she lost control of her vehicle coming to rest in the ditch.

When Police were speaking with the female, officers determined that the driver had signs of impairment.

As a result of the investigation Bethany Bolton, 22, of Rogers Street, Peterborough was arrested and charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus.

The accused was issued an automatic 90 day drivers license suspension and a seven day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released from custody and is s scheduled to appear in court on November 3, 2020. 

Missing Person

The Peterborough Police is asking for the public’s assistance in locating missing person 81-year-old Jeanne Trudel.

Trudel was last seen in her driveway at 4:00 p.m. on September 7, 2020.

Trudel is described as Caucasian, female, 81-years-old, 5 feet tall, with short grey hair and glasses and was last seen wearing a White and purple floral top and white pants.  She is operating a white 2008 PT Cruiser with Ontario marker BLYP612.

Weapons Arrest

On September 6, 2020 shortly after midnight, bike patrol officers observed the accused in the area of Millenium park with what appeared to be a collapsible baton sticking out of his rear pocket.

An investigation revealed that the accused had weapons, expandable baton and a switch blade knife, as well as drugs in his possession.

As a result of the investigation, Jonathan Handel, 34 of Townsend Street in Peterborough, was arrested and charged with possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of schedule I – cocaine and possession of scheduled I – fentanyl.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on November 4, 2020. 

Domestic Assault with a Weapon Arrest

A 40-year-old woman is facing charges including assault with a weapon following a domestic dispute Sunday afternoon.

On the afternoon of September 6, 2020 the accused and a male victim were at a Peterborough Residence when they became involved in an argument.  The argument escalated at which time the male was cut in the hand with a knife.

As a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on November 5, 2020.

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.
