Break & Enter/Flight from Police Suspect Sought

Peterborough Police are investigating after a break and enter at a Peterborough business early Friday morning. 

Just before 1:00am on April 1, 2022, an alarm call was received from a business in the Rubidge Street and Rink Street area.  Officers on general patrol in the area attended the business and noticed someone getting into vehicle and fleeing the parking lot, officers followed the vehicle but after a short distance called off the pursuit for safety reasons.  Upon returning to the business officers learned a door had been smashed and that the vehicle involved in the pursuit had been stolen.

Theft Suspect Sought

Peterborough Police are investigating after a theft at a convenience store in Peterborough Thursday evening.

Just before 11:00pm on March 31, 2022, officers responded to a call at the business in the George Street North and Townsend Street area.  Upon arrival, officers learned that a man had approached the counter with some food items, threatened the store clerk and then took more items as they left the store. The clerk was not injured.

The suspect is described to police as:

  • Male
  • White complexion
  • Medium build
  • Short dark hair and beard
  • Wearing black full sleeve t-shirt with red lettering and blue jeans

Changes to Fees for Volunteer Record Checks

Starting today, April 1, 2022, Changes have been implemented to the fee schedule for police record check applications for volunteers.  As per a provincial government directive certain levels of record checks for volunteers are now free of charge.
