Domestic Assault Arrest

A 25-year-old Peterborough man is facing a number of charges after an incident Thursday evening.

The accused is currently bound by a probation order to not contact or communicate with the victim in this case.

At approximately 6:30pm on April 8, 2021, officers were called by several witnesses about a man kicking a woman in a parking lot before leaving the area with the woman’s purse.  Officers and EMS arrived on the scene and the victim was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment.  During the investigation officers learned that the victim had also been hit on the head with a plastic water bottle. This incident was also called in by a separate witness.

As a result of an investigation, the 25-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault causing bodily harm – spousal
  • Assault with a weapon – spousal
  • Robbery and wounding
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

The accused was held in custody and will appear in court today, April 9, 2021.

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.

 

Domestic Assault Arrest

A 27-year-old City of Kawartha Lakes man is facing an assault charge after an incident earlier this month.

On April 8, 2021, officers received a call about a domestic assault that had happened over the previous weekend.  Officers learned the female victim and the accused were involved in a verbal argument that escalated and the victim was hit in the face.  The victim was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for her injuries.

As a result of the investigation, the 27-year-old man from City of Kawartha Lakes was arrested and charged with aggravated assault  - spousal.

The accused was held in custody and will appear in court today, April 9, 2021.

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.
