Search Warrant Arrests

Four people are facing drug-related charges after a search warrant Thursday afternoon.

On May 26, 2023, officers from the Peterborough Police Service Drug Unit and Emergency Response Team conducted a search warrant at a residence in the Park Street North and Dalhousie Street area. 

As a result, officers seized:

  • 90.3 grams of Fentanyl
  • 136.1 grams of Cocaine
  • 5.96 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine
  • 50 Hyrdromorphone pills

A 16-year-old Peterborough male was arrested and charged with:

  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - in Canada
  • Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court

Under the Youth Criminal Justice Code the name of a young person cannot be released.

A 44-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - in Canada
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin)

A 30-year-old Keene woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - in Canada

A 22-year-old Quebec man was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs
  • Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - in Canada
  • Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court

The accused are being held in custody and will appear in court today, May 26, 2023.

 

Mischief Arrest

A 43-year-old Selwyn Township man is facing charges after an incident in Peterborough Thursday afternoon.

At approximately 4:45pm on May 25, 2023, officers were called to the area of Chemong Road and Milroy Drive about a disturbance in the parking lot of a business in which a man had thrown a plant and damaged a vehicle before fleeing on a nearby trail.  K9 Gryphon was deployed to conduct a track and located the suspect. The man was taken into custody without incident.

As a result, a 43-year-old Selwyn Township man was arrested and charged with:

  • Mischief under $5000 X2
  • Fail to Comply

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court June 13, 2023.

 

Theft Arrest

A 39-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Thursday evening.

At approximately 9:00pm on May 25, 2023, officers were called to a business in the Erskine Avenue and The Queensway area about an unwanted male on the property.  Upon arrival, officers contained the area and a male was spotted jumping the fence and leaving the area.  Officers took the man into custody without incident and seized an amount of copper pipe. 

As a result, a 39-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft under $5000

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court June 13, 2023.
