Arson Arrest

A 30-year-old Peterborough man is facing arson charges after an incident early Friday morning in the South End of the city.

At approximately 1:15 a.m. on November 13, 2020 Police were notified about a suspicious person entering trailers of a business on Braidwood Avenue.

Upon arrival, police located the suspicious male as well as a fire coming from a dumpster.  Peterborough Fire Services were notified and attended to extinguish the fire.

As a result of the investigation, Donald Thibault, 30, of Lansdowne Street, was arrested and charged with arson-damage to property.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court December 10, 2020.

 

Utter Threats Arrest

A 31-year-old Peterborough man has been charged with uttering threats after an incident at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Thursday evening.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on November 12, 2020 the accused became involved in a verbal argument with security officers from Peterborough Regional Health Centre while being escorted off of the property.  At this time the accused threatened to cause to death to the security officers.

Police were notified and attended locating the accused walking away from the hospital.

As a result of the investigation, John Davenport, 31, of Peterborough was arrested and charged with two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily home.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on December 1, 2020.
