Theft from Vehicle Arrest

A 31-year-old Selwyn Township man is facing charges after a theft from motor vehicle Friday evening. 

At approximately 7:00pm on December 17, 2021, officers were made aware of a theft from vehicle in the George Street and Dublin Street area.  Through investigation, officers were able to track the items and attended the area of Water Street and London Street where the accused was located hiding.  The accused refused to comply with officers demands to show themselves and their hands and after resisting was taken into custody.

As a result, 31-year-old Bradley White of Selwyn Township was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - in Canada
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on January 13, 2022.

 

Impaired Arrest

A 24-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident early Sunday morning.

At approximately 2:00am on December 19, 2021, officers were called by a concerned motorist about a possible impaired driver heading northbound on Water Street from King Street, the concerned motorist followed the vehicle to the area of Water Street and Carnegie Avenue. When officers arrived, they noticed obvious signs of impairment with the driver. 

As a result, 24-year-old August MacDonald of Peterborough was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was served an automatic 90-day drivers license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on January 19, 2022.

 

Impaired Arrest

A 27-year-old Young’s Point man is facing charges after a collision early Sunday morning. 

Just after midnight on December 19, 2021, officers were called to a collision on Water Street in Peterborough south of Nassau Mills Road.   Upon arrival, officers noticed obvious signs of impairment from one of the drivers while the other driver was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for medical assessment.  During the arrest, a quantity of cannabis was located on the accused.

As a result of the investigation, 27-year-old Matthew Patterson of Young’s Point was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol 
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

And Highway Traffic Act Charges:

  • Fail to have insurance card
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
  • Careless driving
  • Drive motor vehicle, no permit

The accused was served an automatic 90-day drivers license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on January 13, 2022.

 

Impaired Arrest

A 23-year-old Millbrook woman is facing charges after an incident in a parking lot Saturday afternoon. 

At approximately 1:00pm on December 18, 2021, officers were called to the parking lot in The Parkway and Queensway area about a vehicle into a pole.  Upon arrival, officers noticed obvious signs of impairment and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

As a result, 23-year-old Alivya Brown of Millbrook was arrested and charged with operation while impaired by drug

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on January 25, 2021.
