Assault Arrest

A 38-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after a domestic incident Saturday evening.

At approximately 10:20pm on January 21, 2023, officers were called to a residence about a loud dispute between a man and a woman.  Upon arrival officers learned that a former partner had come to the residence and refused to leave. During the incident the female victim was shoved to the ground, choked, and held down.  A laptop and a wall were also damaged in the incident. 

As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault Cause Bodily Harm - Choke, suffocate or strangle
  • Assault - spouse
  • Mischief under $5000 X2
  • Fail to comply with probation X5

The accused is currently bound by three probation orders with following conditions to remain away from and not communicate with the victim, and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court Sunday, January 22, 2023. 

 

Assault Arrest

A 49-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after a domestic incident Sunday evening.

At approximately 11:55pm on January 22, 2023, officers responded to a 9-1-1 call for help at a residence. Upon arrival officers learned that a female victim had woken up to a pillow being held over her face.  She managed to free herself and call for help.  

As a result of the investigation, a 49-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault with a Weapon  - Spousal
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused is currently bound by a probation order to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. 

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today, January 23, 2023.

 

Fraud Arrest

A 51-year-old Peterborough woman is facing several fraud charges following an investigation.

In late March of 2022, officers were notified of fraudulent purchases and cheques in connection with the accused’s employment.  The total amount involved in the fraud was about $230,000.

As a result of an investigation, on Friday, January 20, 2023, a 51-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft over $5000 x2
  • Falsification books and documents
  • Use document without authority
  • Use, deals, acts on forged document x4
  • Fraudulent concealment

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on January 20, 2023.

 

Assault Arrest

A 33-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident at the Peterborough Police station Saturday morning.

At approximately 7:25am on January 21, 2023, an officer on general patrol was leaving the station when they noticed a man screaming and kick at a door.  Officers learned that the male was currently on a release order to remain off the property of the police station except for emergencies or law enforcement purposes and an undertaking for uttering threats toward officers.  During the arrest, the man continued to resist and kicked an officer.

As a result of the incident, a 33-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault a Peace Officer
  • Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court January 21, 2023.
