Utter Threats Arrest
A 61-year-old Young’s Point man is facing charges after an incident Thursday evening.
At approximately 7:15pm on July 7, 2022, officers were called to the drive thru of a restaurant in the Lansdowne Street and Monaghan Road area. A customer had ordered food and then refused to pay and leave the drive thru line. Upon arrival, the accused became aggressive toward the officers, however, they were able to take him into custody.
As a result, the 61-year-old Young’s Point man was arrested and charged with:
- Cause a disturbance
Once in police custody the suspect made threatening remarks to several officers and was further charged with:
- Utter threats x2
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on August 3, 2022.
Impaired Arrest
A 44-year-old Peterborough woman is facing impaired charges after an incident Friday evening.
At approximately 9:00pm on July 8, 2022, officers were called by a concerned citizen about a possible impaired driver in the parking lot in the Chemong Road and Towerhill Road area. Officers spotted the suspect vehicle being driven through the parking lot and conducted a traffic stop during which they noticed obvious signs of impairment with the driver.
As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - drugs
- Drive motor vehicle - no licence (Highway Traffic Act)
- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available (Cannabis Control Act)
- Fail to surrender insurance card (Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act)
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on August 4, 2022.
Impaired Arrest
A 51-year-old Warkworth man is facing impaired charges after an incident Friday evening.
At approximately 11:50pm on July 8, 2022, officers received a call from a concerned citizen about a possible impaired driver in the area of Wolsely Street and Park Street North. Upon arrival, the vehicle was located near Wolsely Street and Donegal Street. It was up on the curb and had two flat tires on the right side. Officers noticed obvious signs of impairment with the driver.
As a result of the investigation, a 51-year-old Warkworth man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Drive motor vehicle in contravention of conditions (Highway Traffic Act)
The accused was issued a 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impound.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on July 27, 2022.
Impaired Arrest
A 32-year-old City of Kawartha Lakes man is facing an impaired charge after an incident Saturday evening.
At approximately 6:00pm on July 9, 2022, officers were called to parking lot in the Chemong Road and Wolsely Street area about a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle and noticed obvious signs of impairment with the driver.
As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old City of Kawartha Lakes man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - drugs
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on August 2, 2022.
Assault Arrest
A 23-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident early Saturday morning.
At approximately 3:30am on July 9, 2022, officers were called to a residence in the Barnardo Avenue and Wolsely Street area by an off-duty officer. The off-duty officer saw a male going through vehicles. The off-duty officer attempted to follow the suspect when the suspect pulled a knife out. Upon arrival, on-duty officers were told the suspect was in a nearby backyard. A suspect matching the description given to police was located hiding in a hedge, an officer drew their Conducted Energy Weapon, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
As a result, a 23-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault with a Weapon
- Failure to comply with release order other than to attend court
- Failure to comply with undertaking
- Fail to comply with probation order x2
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on August 2, 2022.
Break and Enter Arrest
A 29-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Saturday evening.
At approximately 11:30pm on July 9, 2022, officers received an alarm call to a business in the Lansdowne Street and Goodfellow Road area. Upon arrival officers began checking the wooded area around the business and located a male hiding in the bushes. The male was taken into custody without incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Break, Enter a place - commit indictable offence
Officers conducted a K9 track in the area but no other suspects were located however, some more stolen property was found.
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on July 10, 2022.
Break and Enter Suspects Sought
Peterborough Police are investigating after they were made aware of several incidents at a Peterborough business.
Several incidents had happened over the past couple of months at a business in the Crawford Drive and The Parkway area with trucks in the yard being broken into and items taken. Then sometime between 9:00am on Saturday, June 25 and 2:00am on Sunday, June 26, 2022, a building was broken in to and about $1000 worth of items taken. Another incident happened between 8:00pm on Friday, July 8, 2022 and 2:00am on Saturday, July 9, 2022 when someone tried to gain access to a truck in the yard.
Officers canvassed the area with negative results.
