Aggravated Assault Arrest

A 26-year-old Peterborough man is facing a charge after an incident early Sunday morning.

At approximately 2:45am on June 19, 2022, officers were on a call for service in front of a restaurant in the George Street North and Charlotte Street area when two men ran past the officers and into the restaurant.  As officers entered the restaurant, they noticed one of the men of had been stabbed by the other during a physical altercation.  EMS attended but the victim declined medical attention.

As a result, a 26-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Aggravated assault

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on Sunday, June 19, 2022. 

 

Drug Trafficking/Warrant Arrest

A 35-year-old Peterborough man is facing several drug trafficking charges after an incident on Friday afternoon.

Just before 3:00pm on June 17, 2022, officers spotted a man wanted on two warrants in the area of Wolfe Street and Stewart Street.  Officers were able to take the man into custody at a residence in the Dalhousie Street and Stewart Street area.  A search after the arrest revealed a quantity of drugs (12g of crystal meth and 4.6g of fentanyl), Canadian currency and several knives, a machete, and a hatchet. 

As a result, a 35-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrants

  • robbery with theft, robbery with violence and fail to comply with probation X2

and further charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Crystal Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Fentanyl

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on June 18, 2022. 

 

Break & Enter Suspect Sought

Peterborough Police are investigating after a break and enter to a Peterborough business.

At approximately 10:15 on June 18, 2022, officers were called to a store in the George Street North and Hunter Street West area.  Upon arrival officers learned that a rear window had been broken and that a suspect had left with several items of footwear and a pink-wheeled suitcase.

The suspect is described as:

  • Male
  • Black Coat
  • Black track pants
  • Gray shoes
  • Pierced left ear
