B&E Suspect Sought
Peterborough Police are investigating after a Peterborough business was broken into Tuesday evening.
At approximately 9:30am on June 29, 2022, officers were called to a business in the Chemong Road and Wolsely Street area. Upon arrival, officers learned that the front window of the business had been smashed, the store entered, and items and cash taken. It’s believed the incident happened sometime between 5:30pm on June 28 and 9:30am on June 29. Officers canvassed the area, but a suspect was not located.

Impaired Arrest
A 26-year-old Oshawa man is facing an impaired charge after an incident Wednesday morning.
At approximately 9:45am on June 29, 2022, officers were called by a concerned citizen about a man who may have been impaired in a vehicle in a parking lot in the Lansdowne Street West and The Parkway area. Upon arrival, officers noticed signs of impairment with the driver.
As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old Oshawa man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – drug
The accused was given a 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court July 26, 2022.
Assault Arrest
A 29-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident at a Peterborough business.
At approximately 5:30pm on June 29, 2022, officers were called to a business in the Charlotte Street and Aylmer Street area. Upon arrival, officers learned that a security guard had asked the accused to leave as he was not supposed to be in the store. A physical altercation ensued between the accused and the guard with the accused attempting to grab a knife before the security guard was able to knock it away.
During the arrest officers located on the accused:
- 8.1 grams of fentanyl
- 38 grams of crystal meth
- Scale
As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old Peterborough was arrested and charged with:
- Assault
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition order
- Fail to comply with probation
- Possession of schedule I substance for purpose of trafficking
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on July 27, 2022.
Weapons Arrest
A 38-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident at the Peterborough Police station Wednesday evening.
At approximately 6:00pm on June 29, 2022, officers were made aware of a suspicious male wandering in the parking lot of the station at Water Street and McDonnel Street. Upon arrival officers learned the man was wanted on a warrant and took the man into custody without incident. During the arrest officers located a knife on the accused.
As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
- Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on July 19, 2022.
