Also, a reminder that City of Peterborough by-laws are also in effect and come with fines from $250 for urinating or defecating in public to $300 for obstructing emergency staff or throwing objects.

Break & Enter Arrest
A 40-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges in connection with a break and enter early Thursday morning.
Just after midnight on March 17, 2022, officers were called to a break and enter in progress at a plaza in the Marina Boulevard and Hilliard Street area. It was reported that a male had approached a business, smashed a window, and went inside. When officers arrived, there was no one in the business but a person matching the description given to police was spotted a short distance away. Officers took the suspect into custody and during the arrest located a hammer.
As a result of the investigation, a 40-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Break and Enter
- Possession of Break-In Instrument
The accused was also found to be wanted on nine outstanding warrants.
The accused was held in custody and will appear in court today, March 17, 2022.
Arson Incident
Peterborough Police are investigating after four fires were set early Thursday morning.
At approximately 1:30am on March 17, 2022, officers were called by Peterborough Fire after they responded to several fires in the area of Chemong Road and Wolsely Street. There were four fires in total – one dumpster and three recycling bins.
