Child Fall Incident – UPDATE
Peterborough Police Service has determined that the child fall incident on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 was accidental and no further investigation is required.
The 2.5 year old child was transported to Peterborough Regional Health Centre and then sent to a Toronto-based hospital for further treatment.

Child Fall Incident
Peterborough Police Service is on scene investigating after receiving reports that a young child fell out of a window of a building on Hunter Street West just after 2pm on May 19, 2021. Officers are in the area canvassing for information and there will be enhanced police activity during the investigation. The child was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre with undetermined injuries.
Further information will be released when available.
Special Investigations Unit Invokes Mandate after Peterborough Arrest
Peterborough Police Service was called to a business on George Street North on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 and made an arrest. The Special Investigations Unit has since invoked their mandate. Peterborough Police has no further comment at this time.
Stolen Vehicle Suspect Sought
Peterborough Police Service is looking for a suspect in connection with a vehicle stolen in the west end of Peterborough recently.
On Sunday, May 16, 2021, officers were made aware that a vehicle (a blue Ford Escape) was stolen from a residence on Bertrand Terrace.
The suspect is described (pictures below) as:
- Caucasian male
- dark fringe style haircut, with sides of head shaved
- short mustache & beard
- blue Crooks & Castles t-shirt with red & white logo
- black pants
- black sunglasses
- white facemask
- tattoos on both arms

Recovered Key
Peterborough Police Service recovered a Range Rover key on the morning of Tuesday, May 18, 2021. The key also contains other identifiable tags and a lanyard which the owner can identify.
