Robbery Arrest
A 25-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after a robbery at a business Wednesday afternoon.
At approximately 2:00pm on November 23, 2022, officers were called to the area of George Street North and Townsend Street after a clerk reported a male had entered the store indicated he had a knife and demanded cash before fleeing. A short time later officers located a man matching the description given to police a few blocks away and took him into custody. The clerk was not injured.
As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Robbery with Weapon
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order x2
The accused was held in custody and will appear in court today, November 24, 2022.
Assault Arrest
A 22-year-old Peterborough man is facing an assault charge after police were made aware of a recent incident.
On Wednesday, November 23, 2022, officers were made aware of a physical altercation on Monday, November 21, 2022 between two men who were known to each other. The victim went to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment of injuries.
As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault causing bodily harm
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court December 13, 2022.
Assault Arrest
A 32-year-old Omemee man is facing charges after an incident Wednesday evening.
At approximately 11:30pm on November 23, 2022, officers were called to the area of Wolfe Street and Aylmer Street about a man smashing windows. Upon arrival, officers were approached by a man matching the description given to police and he was taken into custody. Police noticed he had a cut on his wrist and took him to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment. During the arrest the man became aggressive kicking an officer and yelling threats at the officers.
As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old Omemee man was charged with:
- Assault a Peace Officer
- Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm
- Mischief Under $ 5,000
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on December 13, 2022.
The accused also wanted in another jurisdiction and was subsequently taken into custody by the other police service.
