Injured Infant Investigation
A Peterborough infant is in a Toronto hospital with serious injuries.
On November 22, 2020, the Peterborough Police Service began an investigation involving an infant from a Union Street address that had been taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre with serious injuries.
The infant has since been transferred to a Toronto based hospital and is listed in critical condition.
The Peterborough Police are continuing to investigate this incident.

Assault Cause Bodily Harm Arrest (Domestic)
A 27-year-old Peterborough man has been charged with assault causing bodily harm as well as other charges after a domestic incident Wednesday afternoon.
At approximately, 3:00 p.m. on November 25, 2020, police were contacted by the victim, a 22-year-old female, advising that she had been assaulted by her partner throughout the day.
The accused and the victim became involved in an argument that escalated at which point the accused assaulted the victim with a weapon and began to choke her. The victim was able to get to safety.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with the following:
- Assault Cause Bodily Harm - Choke, Suffocate, or Strangle
- Assault with a Weapon – Spousal
- Assault - Spousal
The accused was held in custody and will appear in court today, November 26, 2020.
The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
