“I understand the frustration and feelings of being unsafe that many in our community have expressed as it relates to activities that involve the trafficking of illicit substances and the crimes that spring from it. The illicit drug trade is almost always connected with violence, including firearms-related violence. And as you will see, in both incidents mentioned in today’s release firearms were seized by our officers.
These arrests also represent the ongoing dedication of our Drug Unit and Street Crime Investigators to disrupt and dismantle these operations in our city.
There can be no tolerance for those who would prey on those who battle addiction, and perpetuate their struggles.
To all residents, we will continue to make Your Safety Our Priority.” - Chief Stuart Betts.
