Theft of Copper
Peterborough Police are investigating after a theft was reported Monday.
On April 4, 2022, police received information that a hole had been cut in a fence at a business in the Aylmer Street and Sherbrooke Street area and that some copper material had been taken. There was also damage done to some items in a shipping container.
It’s believed the theft happened some time between March 14, 2022 and Monday, April 4, 2022.

Fire
Peterborough Police also investigating after a small fire in downtown Peterborough.
At approximately 9:45pm on April 2, 2022, officers were called to a small fire in a dumpster in front of a business in the George Street North and Simcoe Street area. Officers were able to extinguish the fire.

Grandparent Scam
Peterborough Police continue to investigate a series of Grandparent Scam incidents.
Two more were reported in the last week. In each case, the victim received a phone call to help a relative that was in custody and money was picked up at their residence.
Peterborough Police ask residents to continue to remain vigilant against these types of scams.
