Weapons Arrest
A 25-year-old Peterborough man is facing a charge after an incident early Friday morning.
Just before 6:00am on July 1, 2022, officers were called to the area of Lansdowne Street and Monaghan Road about a man waving a weapon around. Upon arrival, they located the man and took him into custody. The rifle was discovered to be an air rifle. During the arrest, it was discovered that the accused had weapons prohibition.
As a result, a 25-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on July 14, 2022.
Impaired Arrest
A 34-year-old Ajax man is facing an impaired charge after an incident early Saturday morning.
At approximately 7:45am on July 2, 2022, officers were called by a concerned citizen about a possible impaired driver in the Meadowview Road and Walker Avenue area. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the concerned citizen and while doing so they spotted the vehicle in question being driven erratically before it stopped at the end of driveway. Officers noted obvious signs of impairment with the driver.
As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Ajax man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Careless driving (Highway Traffic Act)
- Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor (Liqour Licence Control Act)
The accused was issued a 90-day licence suspension and seven day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court July 26, 2022.
Threats Arrest
A 34-year-old Peterborough man if facing several charges after an incident Saturday afternoon.
At approximately 3:30pm on July 2, 2022, officers responded to a call at a business in the George Street North and Townsend Street area about an unwanted person. Upon arrival, officers learned that the man had been asked to leave and did so, but then returned to the area and when asked to leave again pulled out a knife and threatened the victim. Officers located a man matching the description given to police a short distance away and took him into custody without incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on July 26, 2022.
Assault Arrest
A 20-year-old Peterborough man is facing an assault charge after an incident early Sunday morning.
At approximately 1:30am on July 3, 2022, officers were called to the area of George Street North and Townsend Street. Upon arrival, they learned a security guard had witnessed a physical altercation between a male and a female in which the female was thrown to the ground several times. The security guard had the male in custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault -Spousal
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on July 26, 2022.
Break & Enter
Peterborough Police are investigating after a break and enter at a Peterborough business.
At approximately 4:15am on July 3, 2022, officers were called to the business on Hunter Street East on an alarm call. Upon arrival, they noticed a window had been broken, however, no one was located in the business. It’s believed a tablet was taken in the incident.
The suspect was described to police as:
- Thin build
- Wearing a black hoodie, black pants and flip flops
- Riding a bicycle

Break & Enter
Peterborough Police are investigating after a break and enter at a Peterborough business.
At approximately 4:30am on July 3, 2022, officers were called to the in the George Street North and Hunter Street West area. Upon arrival, it was noted that two windows were broken and that a backpack and several items of clothing and other items were taken.
The suspect was described to police as:
- Dark coloured facemask
- Front zip hoody with horizontal striping across the chest
- Pants with reflective strip above knee and black waterproof taping on zipper below knee
- Light colored 'slider' style sandals
The suspect was seen leaving the area on a bike.

Assault Arrest
A 36-year-old Port Hope man is facing an assault charge after an incident Sunday evening.
At approximately 7:30pm on July 3, 2022, officers were called out to an event at a business in Fraserville. Upon arrival, officers learned that the accused had gone into a prohibited area and physically assaulted a security guard when asked to leave.
As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old Port Hope man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault – Adult
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on July 19, 2022.
