Incendiary Material Arrest

A 40-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident in Peterborough Saturday.

At approximately 9:00am on May 21, 2022, officers were made aware of a resident who was making threats to cause damage to property at Peterborough Regional Health Centre.  Based on the information, officers from the Emergency Response Team were able to make an arrest at a Peterborough residence.

As a result, a 40-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of Incendiary Material - Incendiary materials are materials that could be used in the commission of arson.
  • Utter Threats to Destroy Property

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on Sunday, May 22, 2022.  

 

Break & Enter

Peterborough Police are investigating after a business was broken into over the weekend.  

It’s believed the break in happened between 9:00pm on Saturday, May 21, 2022 and 7:00am on Sunday, May 22, 2022.  A window was broken and several items were taken from the business in the King Street and Water Street area of Peterborough.

Break & Enter 

Peterborough Police are investigating after a break and enter to a Peterborough business over the weekend. 

It was reported that a window at a business in the Sherbrooke Street and Medical Drive area was broken and a number of items taken.  It’s believed it happened sometime Saturday night or early Sunday morning.

Break & Enter

Peterborough Police are investigating after a business in Peterborough was broken into.

It’s believed the incident happened between 7:15pm on Sunday, May 22, 2022 and 3:00am on Monday, May 23, 2022.  It was reported the front door was damaged in the incident and several items taken from the business in the Hunter Street and George Street area.

Assault Arrest

A 48-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Sunday evening. 

At approximately 7:30pm on May 22, 2022, officers were called to a residence in the Bensfort Road and Collison Avenue area about an unwanted male.  Upon arrival, officers say a man ran out of the residence and threw a jug of liquid at the officer before trying to flee.  Other officers were able to take the man into custody while in the police cruiser he spat numerous times on the partition as well as the officer. 

As a result of the investigation, a 48-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Mischief under $5000
  • Assault a Peace Officer
  • Public Disturbance (Provincial Offence Notice)
  • Public Intoxication (Provincial Offence Notice)

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on Monday, May 23, 2022.
