Break and Enter Arrest: Weller Street

A 26-year-old Peterborough man is facing additional break and enter charges after a second incident in two days in a west-end neighbourhood.

The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused is also currently bound by a weapons prohibition order with the condition to not possess a prohibited weapon.

Further, the accused is also currently bound by an undertaking to stay away from the residence on Weller Street.

At approximately, 7:00pm on December 8, 2020 police attended a vacant house on Weller Street after a call from a neighbour about an unknown man in the home.   

As a result of an investigation, 26-year-old Bryce McHugh of Peterborough was arrested and charged with:

  • Break and Enter with intent to commit offence
  • Fail to comply with undertaking
  • Fail to comply with probation

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on December 9, 2020

 

Domestic Assault

A 65-year-old Peterborough man is facing assault with a weapon charges after an investigation Tuesday night. 

At approximately, 11:00 pm, police were called to a Clonsilla Avenue apartment building after a woman reported she and her adult son had been threatened by the accused with a baseball bat.

As a result of an investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon x2
  • Utter threats to cause death or bodily harm

The accused was released on an undertaking with the conditions to not communicate with the victim and to stay away from the victim’s residence.  He is scheduled to appear in court on January 14, 2021.

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.
