Mischief Arrest
A 51-year-old Peterborough man is facing a mischief charge after an incident Tuesday morning.
At approximately 8:45am on June 21, 2022, officers were made aware of a man causing a disturbance in the Aylmer Street and Dalhousie Street area. Upon arrival, officers learned the man had struck the passenger side mirror of a parked vehicle and fled the area. Officers were able to locate the man and take him into custody. It was learned the man was angry about a damaged tooth and required some dental care. Officers were able to help the man get a dentist appointment with the emergency clinic.
As a result of the mischief investigation, a 51-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with mischief under $5000.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20, 2022.
Impaired Arrest
A 32-year-old City of Kawartha Lakes man is facing impaired charges after an incident Tuesday evening.
At approximately 10:30pm on June 21, 2022, officers were called by a concerned resident about a suspicious person in a parked vehicle in the Clonsilla Avenue and Ford Street area. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle and a male inside. There were obvious signs of impairment with male.
As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old City of Kawartha Lakes man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was served a 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on July 13, 2022.
Theft of Batteries
Peterborough Police is investigating after a number of golf cart batteries were taken from a local business.
On June 21, 2022, it was reported through the online reporting portal that several new and over 30 used batteries were taken from the same business in Millbrook. The first incident happened on Friday, June 17, 2022, between 5:00pm and 7:30pm and a second incident happened sometime between Monday, June 20, 2022, at 5:00pm and Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at 7:30am.
