Weapons/Threats Arrest
A 34-year-old Peterborough man is facing numerous charges after an incident Tuesday.
Just before noon on June 28, 2022, officers were made aware of a domestic-related incident in which a firearm was pointed at one of the victims. No one was injured in the incident.
At approximately 2:30pm, officers located the suspect in the area of Park Street and Romaine Street and took him into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Pointing a Firearm
- Uttering Threats to Cause Death x2
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Fentanyl
During the arrest officers located:
- Fentanyl – 10 grams
- Crack – 28.3 grams
- About $1000 in Canadian currency
In connection with the incident, officers conducted a search warrant at a Park Street South residence and located:
- One rifle
- Four Airsoft replica guns
- Ammunition
As a result, the accused was further charged with:
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Careless Storage of Ammunition
- Robbery Using Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today, June 29, 2022.
In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.
Assault Suspect Sought
Peterborough Police are investigating after an incident at a Peterborough business Tuesday morning.
Just before 11:00am on June 28, 2022, officers were called to a business in the Chemong Road and Milroy Drive area. Upon arrival officers learned that a man attempting to leave the store with unpaid merchandise struck a store greeter before fleeing the store. He was last seen heading to the trail. Officers checked the area, but a suspect was not located. The victim went to Peterborough Regional Health Centre as a precaution.
The suspect was described to police as:
- Caucasian, Male
- About 40-55 years old
- Dark brown facial hair
- Black ball cap
- Blue bandana
- Blue long sleeve shirt
- Light and dark grey camo pants
- Brown/Black Work boots
- Black sunglasses
- Black wristwatch

Theft Arrest
Two Peterborough people are facing charges after an incident early Wednesday morning.
At approximately 12:00am on June 29, 2022, officers were called to the area of Monaghan Road and Lansdowne Street about two people taking packages from a mailbox. Upon arrival, officers spotted the pair that had been described to police by security officers in the parking lot and took them into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Theft under $5000
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on July 19, 2022.
A 34-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Theft under $5000
