Break & Enter Suspect Sought

Peterborough Police are investigating after a building under repairs was reported broken into over the weekend.

On March 14, 2022, officers were made aware of six units that were broken into at the building in the High Street and Maryland Avenue.  It’s believed the incidents happened over the weekend between the afternoon of Saturday, March 12 and Monday, March 14, 2022.  There was another report of similar incident a few days before.

Impaired Arrest

A 25-year-old Curve Lake man is facing impaired charges after an incident early Wednesday morning.

At approximately 1:30am on March 16, 2022, officers were called to the intersection of King Street and George Street South about a vehicle stopped at a green light and a man asleep at the wheel. Upon arrival, officers found the driver unresponsive in the vehicle and the car running.  After several attempts, the driver responded and turned off the vehicle.  Officers noticed signs of impairment with driver.

As a result of an investigation, a 25-year-old Curve Lake man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment. 

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on April 5, 2022.

 

Mischief Incident

Peterborough Police are investigating after an incident at restaurant Tuesday morning. 

At approximately 8:30am on March 15, 2022, officers were called to the restaurant in the George Street North and Hunter Street West area after reports of a man attempting to get in a back door.  The suspect did not gain entry to the store and fled when confronted, but the door was damaged.  A search of the area had negative results.

The suspect was described to police as:

  • Male
  • Wearing light coloured pants and a white hooded sweatshirt
