Assault with a Weapon Arrest
A 27-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident in Peterborough Tuesday evening.
At approximately 8:45pm on March 29, 2022, officers were called to a business in the George Street North and Charlotte Street area about an unwanted female. Upon arrival, officers learned that the woman was the subject of an unwanted person call that had been resolved earlier that evening. In the second incident, the woman left the area but then a few minutes later officers heard a disturbance at another business nearby. Officers attended the business and learned that the woman had entered, had been asked to leave as the business was closing, she refused and struck a staff person with a bottle. Officers were able to locate and take the woman into custody.
During the arrest it was learned the woman was also wanted on a warrant in another jurisdiction for robbery with a firearm, possess weapon, fail to attend court, and fail to attend for identification.
As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Assault with a weapon
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on April 21, 2022.
The accused was further turned over to the other jurisdiction on the strength of the warrant.
