Shooting Incident
Peterborough Police are investigating after a shooting in the city this morning.
At approximately 11:00am on July 11, 2022, officers responded to a 9-1-1 call about a shooting at a residence in the Dalhousie Street and Stewart Street area. A male victim was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre and then taken by helicopter to a Toronto hospital.
Peterborough Police do not believe this is a random incident and there is no current threat to public safety, however, the Service understands that safety in our community is a concern. If you see any suspicious activity, please call Peterborough Police at 705-876-1122 or 9-1-1 if it’s an emergency.

Update To Shooting Incident On July 11, 2022. Peterborough Police Make An Arrest:
On July 28, 2022, Montreal Police, acting on a Canada Wide Warrant arrested a 19 year old male from Quebec wanted for the shooting that occurred on Dalhousie St. on July 11th, 2022.
The male has been charged with Attempt murder, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm, robbery using a firearm, possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order, possession of a weapon for a dangerous person, pointing a firearm, discharging a firearm with intent, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm and failing to comply with a release order X 6.
The male was remanded into custody and returned to Ontario by the Peterborough Police.
