Fraud Incidents
Peterborough Police Service continues to receive reports of frauds and scams involving bitcoin.
In recent days, two incidents were reported, and both were scams involving cryptocurrency investments. Between the two reports about $16,000 was lost. In the month of March, which is Fraud Prevention Awareness Month, there was over $100,000 lost to bitcoin scams in Peterborough, Lakefield and Cavan-Monaghan.

Drug Investigation Arrests
A 28-year-old Peterborough man and a 29-year-old Ajax man are facing drug and firearm charges after a loaded handgun and drugs were seized.
On Thursday, April 13, 2023, officers with the Peterborough Police Drug Unit arrested the two men, one during a traffic stop near Ravenwood Drive and Melody Crescent and the second during a search warrant at a residence in the Louden Terrace and Avery Avenue area.

Assault Arrest
A 33-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges in connection with a domestic incident on Wednesday evening.
At approximately 7:00pm on April 12, 2023, officers were called to a residence by a concerned family member. Upon arrival, officers learned that a man and a woman had been involved in a verbal argument. As the male tried to leave the residence was punched and hit several times.
