A 15-year-old Peterborough male is facing charges after an incident Monday evening.

At approximately 8:30pm on May 30, 2022, police received several 9-1-1 calls about two people involved in a domestic dispute in the area of Monaghan Road and Hopkins Avenue.  Upon arriving in the area, officers located a male and a female and learned that the dispute had turned physical.

Peterborough Police are investigating after a jewelry store was broken into early Monday morning.

Crypto Currency Investment Scam

Peterborough Police are warning residents to be very wary of crypto currency investment deals. 

Recently, fraud investigators were made aware of a situation where a Peterborough resident invested over $100,000 in crypto currency before learning that it was a scam.

A 25-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident at a local business Wednesday night.

At approximately 11:45pm on May 26, 2022, officers were notified of an alarm call to a business in the area of Lansdowne Street West and Webber Avenue. Upon arrival, officers noticed a door had been smashed and a man with minor injuries walking near the building.

Road Closure - Thursday, May 26, 2022 - Update

Peterborough Police say that a suspicious package was not a threat. 

Early this afternoon May 26, 2022, officers were made aware of a suspicious package on the road in front of Peterborough City Hall.  

As a safety precaution, the road was closed, City Hall was evacuated and the OPP Hazardous Disposal Unit was called in.  They were able to determine that the container was not a threat.
