Tips for Testing

Can be found under the Police Fitness Personnel Ontario Website at:

https://pfpo.org/ontario-police-fitness-pin-award-program/#

Come prepared to pass. Please review the testing process (PFPO Link) and practice to understand your limits.

Please:

Do not use any energy drinks / ephedrine / caffeine etc prior to the testing. Far too often candidates are excluded from the testing due to having not passed the prescreening.

Pre-screening limits are as follows:

HR max is 99 BPM

BP max is 160/90

Such substances combined with the normal day stress can easily cause one’s levels to soar.  One cannot complete the test if prescreen limits exceed the limit.

Testing Standards

Shuttle Run/"Beep Test" - For a candidate to pass the PPS fitness screening an applicant in the recruiting process must reach level 7.

PREP Test - Success is completing all course elements in a time of 02:37 or less.

What to Expect:

Crime Stoppers

Crime Stoppers is a civilian, non profit, charitable organization that brings together the community, the police and the media in the fight against crime.

Crime Stoppers provides citizens with a vehicle to anonymously supply the police with information about a crime or potential crime of which they have knowledge. Cash rewards are offered to people who call the program and their information leads to an arrest.
