Impaired Arrest

A 62-year-old Oshawa woman is facing an impaired charge after an incident Thursday afternoon.

At approximately 4:15pm on March 6, 2025, officers were called about a possible impaired driver asleep at the wheel in the Simcoe Street and Aylmer Street area.  Upon arrival, officers noticed the vehicle was half on the road and half on the sidewalk and there were signs of impairment with the driver.

As a result of the investigation, a 62-year-old Oshawa woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drugs

The accused was given a 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court April 15, 2025.

 

Theft Arrest

A 35-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges in connection with three theft incidents at Peterborough businesses in January 2025.

At approximately 11:15am on Thursday, March 6, 2025, officers with the Community FIRST Unit were on general patrol in the Simcoe Street and Stewart Street area when they spotted the suspect.  They approached her and took her into custody without incident.

As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000 X3
  • Fail to comply with probation order X3
  • Fail to comply with release order X2

The accused is currently bound by probation orders to not attend the businesses involved in these incidents.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court yesterday, March 6, 2025.
