Utter Threats/Fail to Comply with Probation Order Arrest

A 23-year-old Peterborough man wanted in connection with several theft incidents from last week and failing to comply with probation is facing new charges after an incident Sunday morning.

At approximately 9:45am on August 17, 2025, an officer on general patrol witnessed a pedestrian crossing against traffic in the Charlotte Street and Aylmer Street area.  The officer attempted to stop and talk to the man however he took off.  The officer gave chase and caught up with the man and took him into custody.  During the arrest, the suspect verbally threatened, spat at and kicked officers.

As a result of the investigation, the 23-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm X2
  • Assault a Peace Officer X2
  • Fail to Comply with Probation X16
  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking X4
  • Theft Under $5000 X3
  • Pedestrian Disobey Red Light (Highway Traffic Act)

The accused is currently bound by four probation orders with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, August 18, 2025.

 

Break and Enter/Warrant Arrest

A 37-year-old Peterborough man wanted on warrants in connection with a theft and breach of probation is facing new charges after an incident over the weekend.

At approximately 9:30 on Sunday, August 17, 2025, officers were called to a residence in the Brock Street and Aylmer Street area about an unwanted person. Upon arrival, officers further learned that the same person had been entering apartments over the past day.  Officers searched the building, and a suspect was located on an upper floor and taken into custody.

As a result of the investigation, the 37-y ear-old Peterborough was arrested on the strength of the warrants and further charged with:

  • Break, Enter a place - with intent to commit indictable offence
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, August 18, 2025. 

 

Impaired Arrest

A 58-year-old Peterborough woman is facing impaired charges after an incident Friday afternoon.

At approximately 2:30pm on August 15, 2025, officers were called about a possible impaired driver after a minor collision had occurred on Kawartha Heights Boulevard and one of cars left the scene. Officers caught up with the vehicle in a parking lot in the Lansdowne Street and Westridge Boulevard area and in speaking with the driver noticed obvious signs of impairment.

As a result of the investigation, the 58-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Careless driving (Highway Traffic Act)
  • Fail to have insurance card (Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act)

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court September 23, 2025.
