Warrant Arrest

A 37-year-old Peterborough man wanted on warrants was arrested Wednesday evening.

At approximately 7:20pm on June 18, 2025, officers on general bike patrol spotted a man wanted on warrants for theft over $5000, theft under $5000 as well as failing to comply with release orders and an appearance notice.  The man is being held in custody and will appear in court today, June 19, 2025.

 

Assault/Break & Enter Arrests

Two people are facing charges after an incident Tuesday morning.

At approximately 11:50am on June 17, 2025, officers were called to the area of Monaghan Road and Cameron Street about a man chasing another man with a bat.  Upon arrival, officers located a man matching the description given to police walking with a bat and took him into custody.  Officers continued to search the area and located a second man matching the description given to police and took him into custody.  The second man was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment of injuries. 

Through investigation, officers learned that one man had broken into a home and the resident chased him out with a bat striking him several times.

As a result,

A 31-year-old Whitby man was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault causing bodily harm

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on June 18, 2025.

A 43-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court July 29, 2025.

 

Assault Arrest

A 34-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident Tuesday night.

At approximately 10:30pm on June 17, 2025, officers were called about an unwanted person in the area of Crescent Street and Perry Street. Upon arrival, officers learned that security had detained the woman after she spat on and kicked the security guard and refused to leave.

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault – Adult
  • Disobeying Order of Court
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • Failure to leave premise when directed to (Trespass Act)

The accused is currently bound by a probation order and a court order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court July 29, 2025.
