Possession of Stolen Property Arrest

Three GTA men are facing charges after an incident Monday.

At approximately 6:45pm on November 24, 2025, officers were called to a business on Technology Drive.  Upon arrival, they learned that the business had taken six orders over the phone from the same person.  While loading the orders onto a truck, the business employee was contacted by a resident in British Columbia after they received notification of fraudulent activity on their credit card.  The business stopped loading the orders and kept the three men that had come to pick up the items on site until police arrived.

As a result of the investigation:

A 51-year-old Brampton man was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 - in Canada

A 23-year-old Etobicoke man was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 - in Canada

A 36-year-old Newmarket man was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 - in Canada

All three were released on an undertaking and are scheduled to appear in court January 6, 2026.

 

Distraction Theft Suspect Sought

The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after a report of a distraction theft recently.

On November 21, 2025, officers were called to an apartment building in the Champlain Crescent and University Heights Boulevard area after a woman reported being approached by a man claiming his dog was missing.  The woman had just returned from a shopping trip and had brief conversation with the man in the parking lot.  About 20 minutes later the woman saw the man through a patio window waving at her, she went outside to help look for the dog again and when returned to her apartment realized her credit cards were missing.  When she went to cancel her cards there were several unknown purchases for over $1300.

Officers are looking for two suspects:

Suspect #1 was described to police as:

  • Male
  • Believed to be of Indian descent
  • About 5’7
  • Between 40-50 years old
  • With an average build, clean shaven, and an accent

Suspect #2 was described to police as:

  • Male
  • Believed to be of Indian descent
  • Tall
  • Thin build with a beard

Weapons Call

At approximately 4:15pm on November 26, 2025, officers were called to a residence on Lansdowne Street and Sherburne Street about a home invasion involving guns. 

Due to the nature of the call, a significant officer response was required.  Through investigation it was learned that the call was unfounded.
