Fail to Remain – Information Sought

Officers with the Traffic Management Unit are investigating after a 6-year-old boy was struck while crossing at an intersection in August.

At approximately 3:30pm on Monday, August 25, 2025, the boy was struck as he and his dad were crossing at the traffic light on Chemong Road that serves the Shoppers Drug Mart and Walmart plazas.  The boy suffered minor injuries.  The driver of the vehicle apologized and then left the scene.  

The driver of the vehicle is described as:

  • Female, white
  • Slim build
  • Should length brown hair
  • Wearing a brown tank top at the time of the incident

The vehicle is described as:

  • 2010 – 2015 KIA Optima
  • Grey
  • Four- door

Peterborough Police have photos of the vehicle and driver and are appealing to anyone who can help identify the person pictured or if anyone has information or video footage to call Peterborough Police Traffic Management Unit at 705-876-1122 x289 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.stopcrimehere.ca

 

 

Fail to Remain – Information Sought

Officers with the Peterborough Police Service Traffic Management Unit are seeking the public’s help locating an electric e-bike driver.

At approximately 11:00am on September 1, 2025, an officer on patrol spotted on e-bike being driven in live lanes at speeds over the regulation for an e-bike as well as weaving through parking lots. The bike did not have a rear license plate. The officer activated their emergency lights however, the driver did not stop and ran a red light at The Parkway and Clonsilla Avenue before hopping the curb to the sidewalk at a fast pace and turning onto trail on the northside of the road.

The driver is described as:

  • Medium build 
  • Black Baseball Cap
  • Longish Blonde Hair
  • Mustache 
  • White T Shirt
  • Blue Jeans
  • Black and White High Tops

The driver was not wearing a helmet.

The vehicle is described as:

  • Electric Dirt bike - Black or Dark blue
  • Does not appear to have pedals just foot pegs
  • Does not appear to have turn signals or brake lights

Peterborough Police Service assists Toronto Police Service Investigation

On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, the Peterborough Police Service Emergency Response Team (ERT) conducted a high-risk arrest of an individual wanted in connection with a Toronto Police Service investigation.  The arrest happened in the east parking lot of Lansdowne Place Mall around 9:00am.

As part of the investigation with TPS, officers also searched a residence in Peterborough.  At this time, no further information is being released.
