Warrant/Drug Arrest

A 45-year-old Peterborough man wanted on a warrant is facing more charges.

At approximately 4:00pm on April 3, 2025, officers with the Community FIRST Unit spotted a man wanted on a warrant for failing to comply with probation.  The man attempted to run from police, however, they caught up with him and took him into custody.  During a search after arrest, officers seized:

  • 48.3grams - Fentanyl
  • 10.9grams – Crystal Methamphetamine
  • 34.8grams - Cocaine
  • 86.7grams – Unknown Substance
  • Cell phone, scale, small bags and tin foil
  • Canadian currency

As a result, a 45-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrant and further charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs (Fentanyl)
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, April 4, 2025.

 

Theft Arrest
A 42-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Thursday evening.

At approximately 8:25pm on April 3, 2025, officers were called to a business in the Lansdowne Street and The Parkway area about a theft in progress.  Upon arrival, officers learned that the man had left the store on bicycle without paying for a bag of items.  Officers searched the area and located a man matching the description given to police.  Officers returned the stolen items and also learned the man was wanted on a warrant for failing to comply with an appearance notice. Through investigation it was learned that the man was also wanted in connection with six other theft incidents at businesses in February and March of this year (2025). 

As a result, a 42-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrant and further charged with:

  • Theft under $5000 X7

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, April 4, 2025.

 

Impaired Arrest
A 60-year-old Peterborough man is facing an impaired charge after an incident Thursday afternoon.

At approximately 5:00pm on April 3, 2025, officers were called to a possible impaired driver and disturbance in the Hunter Street and Aylmer Street area. Upon arrival, officers noticed a vehicle matching the description given to police parked on the roadway and running. While speaking to the driver, officers learned that the passenger was refusing to get out of the vehicle and further noticed signs of impairment with driver.

As a result of the investigation, a 60-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court May 13, 2025.
