Weapons/Drug Arrest
A 45-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges after an incident Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 3:00pm on December 11, 2025, Community F.I.R.S.T officers were proactively in the area of Reid Street and Simcoe Street when they spotted an individual with brass knuckles. The man was taken into custody as they are a prohibited weapon.
During a search after arrest, officers seized:
- Brass knuckles
- 20 Dilaudid (Hydromorphone) pills
- 3.1grams of Crack Cocaine
- 6.2grams of Fentanyl
- Scales
As a result of the investigation, a 45-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Opioid (Fentanyl)
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Hydromorphone
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused is currently bound by a weapons prohibition to not possess any weapons as defined by the Criminal Code and a probation order with the condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court December 12, 2025.
Impaired Arrest
A 28-year-old Peterborough man is facing an impaired charge after an incident early Thursday morning.
At approximately 1:35am on December 11, 2025, officers were called to assist after a car was spotted stuck in a snowbank in the McDonnel Street and Reid Street area. Upon arrival and speaking with the driver, officers noticed signs of impairment.
As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court January 20, 2026.
