Weapon Arrest

A 35-year-old Peterborough man wanted on a warrant is facing new charges after an incident Thursday afternoon.

At approximately 4:00pm on February 19, 2026, officers were called to an apartment building on Romaine Street between Aylmer Street and Park Street about a man with a bat causing a disturbance in a hallway and stairwell.  Upon arrival, officers learned that when several tenants spotted the man in the hallway, he charged at them and struck an apartment door as they retreated to safety.  Officers further learned that the man had returned to his apartment and was refusing to come out.  No one was injured and officers were able to evacuate several adjoining apartments and secure the building.

At approximately 7:30pm, officers, with a warrant in hand, went to enter the apartment when the suspect exited. He was taken into custody.

As a result, a 35-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrant for assault and utter threats cause bodily harm and further charged with:

  • Assault with A Weapon
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Mischief Under $ 5,000 x2

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, February 20, 2026.

The road was closed for several hours for the investigation.

 

Weapons Arrest

A 31-year-old Peterborough woman wanted on a warrant for failing to attend court is facing new charges after she was located by officers early Friday morning.

At approximately 12:25am on February 20, 2026, officers on general patrol in the Park Street and Dalhousie Street area spotted the woman and took her into custody on the strength of the warrant. During a search after arrest, officers seized:

  • A replica firearm
  • Three knives
  • An expandable baton
  • 1.4 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine
  • 0.2 grams of Fentanyl
  • Drug paraphernalia

Officers further learned that the woman is currently bound by a release order with the condition to not possess any weapons and 10-year weapons prohibition.

As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested on the strength of the warrant and further charged with:

  • Failure to comply with release order 
  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Methamphetamine 
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance-  Fentanyl

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, February 20, 2026.

 

Theft Arrest

A 33-year-old Peterborough woman is facing almost a dozen charges in connection with a series of thefts.

On Thursday, February 19, 2026, officers with the Community F.I.R.S.T Unit spotted the woman in the Rubidge Street and Dalhousie Street area and recognized her as being wanted in connection with 11 incidents at Peterborough LCBO stores between August and December 2025.

As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000 x11

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, February 20, 2026.
