Possession of Stolen Property Arrest
A 36-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after two theft reports.
At approximately 12:00pm on February 6, 2025, officers with the Community FIRST Unit located a suspect matching the description of the male in the theft reports in the area of Aylmer Street and Simcoe Street. The man was taken into custody and during search after arrest a laptop and a set of keys from a business were located. Both items were returned to the owners.
As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - in Canada X2
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, February 7, 2025.
Theft Arrest
A 35-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after two theft incidents Thursday.
At approximately 5:30pm on February 6, 2025, officers with the Community FIRST Unit were called to a business on Lansdowne Street West about a suspicious male. Officers located a man matching the description given to police and during a search after arrest located several items from nearby businesses. Through investigation it was determined that the items were not purchased. It was also learned the man was wanted on a warrant.
As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrant and further charged with:
- Theft Under $5000 X2
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order X2
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend several businesses including two in which the items were from.
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court February 7, 2025.
