Break and Enter Arrests
A collaborative effort between several Peterborough Police Service Units has resulted in three Peterborough men being charged in connection with a break and enter at a local business.
An outdoor storage shed on the property in the Charlotte Street and George Street area had been broken into Sunday, January 11, 2026, and five bicycles were stolen. The bicycles, worth over $7000, have been recovered.
Through investigation, three suspects were identified and on Thursday, January 15, 2026, all were located arrested and charged.
At approximately 10:10am on Thursday, January 15, 2026, a 40-year-old Peterborough man wanted in connection with the break and enter was spotted in the George Street and Dalhousie Street area by two officers on uniform patrol and taken into custody.
He was charged with:
- Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence
- Fail to Comply with Probation
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court yesterday, Thursday, January 15, 2026.
At approximately 1:15pm on Thursday, January 15, 2026, in the Dalhousie Street and Aylmer Street area, officers with the Street Crime Unit spotted a man wanted in connection with two break and enters at the business. The incident Sunday, January 11, 2026, and a previous incident on Saturday, January 10, 2026, in which 20 pairs of snowshoes were taken.
As a result, a 27-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence X2
- Fail to Comply with Probation X2
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, January 16, 2026.
At approximately 2:45pm on Thursday, January 15, 2026, in Dalhousie Street and Aylmer Street area, an officer with the Community F.I.R.S.T Unit spotted the third suspect wanted in connection with the break and enter on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
As a result, a 45-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, January 16, 2026.
Break and Enter Arrest
A 27-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges in connection with three residential break and enter incidents.
At approximately 5:30pm on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, officers were called to a residence in the Monaghan Road and Bolivar Street area after it was reported a man had entered a home while the family was eating dinner and then fled when confronted by the homeowner. Officers attended the area and located a man matching the description given to police.
Through investigation it was further learned that the man had broken into the same home on Saturday, January 10, 2026. A third break and enter was also identified as connected to the suspect. This incident happened in the early morning hours of Wednesday, January 14, 2026, in the Maria Street and Rogers Street area.
No one was injured in any of the incidents.
As a result, a 27-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Break, Enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence X3
- Mischief – destroys or damages property
- Use of Credit Card
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Fentanyl
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order X3
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court January 15, 2026.
Break and Enter Investigation
Officers with the Peterborough Police Service Street Crime Unit are investigating a break and enter to a business.
At approximately 5:30am on Monday, January 12, 2026, damage to a storefront window at a business on George Street near Brock Street was reported to police. It was learned that 30-40 phones had been taken at a value of approximately $30,000. Officers located and seized several items believed to be used to break the window and glass cases. It’s estimated the damage to the glass was about $2,700.
