Shoplifting and Breach Arrests

A 44-year-old Peterborough man and a 45-year-old Peterborough woman are facing charges after a shoplifting incident Thursday afternoon.

At approximately 5:30pm on January 16, 2025, officers with the Community FIRST unit responded to a shoplifting incident at a box store on Lansdowne Street West. Officers located a female in the area matching the description provided. This female was still in possession of the stolen items. Further investigation revealed that the female was in the company of a male who was breaching a court order.

As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Disobeying an Order of Court

The accused was released on an Appearance Notice and is due to appear in court on February 25, 2025.

As a result of the investigation, a 45-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft Under $5,000

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is due to appear in court on February 25, 2025.

 

Warrant Arrests

On January 16, 2025, the Peterborough Police Service arrested five individuals who were wanted on outstanding warrants. These arrests and incidents were not related.
