Suspicious Vehicle Incident

The Peterborough Police Service has been made aware of an incident in a west-end neighbourhood this week.

At approximately 8:20pm on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, a family walking in the area of Glenforest Boulevard and Keppler Crescent reported that their son had been approached by two people in a white van who asked him to get into the vehicle. The boy refused and returned to his parents who were walking behind.  The van then took off at a high rate of speed. 

The vehicle was described to police as a white van with tinted windows.

Road Rage Incident Arrest

A 25-year-old Marmora man is facing charges after a road rage incident in Lakefield Thursday afternoon.

At approximately 1:30pm on June 12, 2025, officers were called to a parking lot in the Queen Street and Water Street area about a disturbance. Upon arrival officers learned that a verbal dispute had occurred between people in two vehicles over driving actions and that the suspect had kicked the door of the victim’s vehicle. 

As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old Marmora man was arrested and charged with:

  • Mischief - destroys or damages property
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court July 22, 2025.

 

Impaired Arrest

A 40-year-old Peterborough man is facing impaired charges after an incident Wednesday evening .

At approximately 7:00pm on June 11, 2025, officers were called to the area of Sherbrooke Street and Aylmer Street after it was a reported a vehicle had run several red lights, hit a curb and almost struck a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle and driver in a parking lot.  During conversation with the driver, officers noticed signs of impairment.

As a result, a 40-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Drive motor vehicle – no license (Highway Traffic Act)

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court July 22, 2025.
