Theft Arrest
A 28-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 1:45pm on June 5, 2025, officers were called to a residence in the Westcott Street and Aylmer Street area about a man going through cars. Upon arrival, officers located a man matching the description given to police and took him into custody. During the investigation it was learned that the same person was wanted in connection with a similar incident earlier that day in the Rubidge Street and Sherbrooke Street area.
As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Theft Under $5000 X2
- Fail to Comply with Probation X2
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following conditions: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, June 6, 2025.
Warrant Arrest
A 37-year-old Peterborough man wanted on five warrants was arrested by the Community FIRST Unit on Thursday evening.
At approximately 7:30pm on June 5, 2025, officers with the Community FIRST Unit were on general patrol in the area of Hunter Street and Queen Street and spotted the man who was wanted for theft under $5,000, use of credit card, obstruct peace officer, identity fraud, failing to comply with probation X2, fail to comply with undertaking, fail to comply with summons, fail to comply with release order. He was taken into custody without incident.
He is being held in custody and will appear in court today, June 6, 2025.
