Threats Arrest

A 19-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges after an incident Thursday morning.

At approximately 10:30am on March 9, 2023, officers were called to residence by a concerned citizen.  Upon arrival, they learned that a female had been verbally threatened several times during a domestic dispute.  However, the male was refusing to come out of the home.  Officers secured a warrant and were able to take the male into custody. 

As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old Peterborough male was arrested and charged with:

  • Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm-Spousal
  • Uttering Threats - Damage Property x2
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court x2

The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following conditions to not communicate with the victim and a release order to not communicate with the victim and to stay away from their residence. 

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on March 9, 2023.

 

Robbery Arrest

Two teenagers have been charged with robbery after an incident early Thursday evening.

At approximately 6:15pm on March 9, 2023, officers were called about a street-level robbery that happened in the area of Monaghan Road and Braidwood Avenue area. Upon speaking with the 13-year-old victim, officers learned that several girls had attacked her and taken her phone before taking off.  The incident happened between 5:00pm and 5:30pm.  The victim suffered minor injuries but did not require medical attention. 

As a result of the investigation,

A 13-year-old female was arrested and charged with:

  • Robbery

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court April 24, 2023.

A 14-year-old female was arrested and charged with:

  • Robbery

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court April 24, 2023.

Impaired Arrest

A 21-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident Thursday evening. 

At approximately 10:45pm on March 9, 2023, officers received several calls for service about an altercation.  Upon arrival officers learning that the female was attempting to operate a vehicle while impaired and that a child was in the vehicle.  Officers approached the vehicle and noticed obvious signs of impairment with the driver.  However, when officers attempted to conduct a sobriety test the driver became hostile. 

As a result of the investigation, a 21-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court April 4, 2023.
