Theft Arrest
A 35-year-old Peterborough man wanted on warrants for theft is facing new charges after an incident Thursday.
At approximately 2:15pm on March 12, 2026, officers with the Community F.I.R.S.T Unit were notified about a theft in progress at a business in the High Street and Borden Avenue area. Upon arrival, officers spotted a man matching the description given to police exiting the store and took him into custody. Items from the store were recovered and returned. The man was wanted on two warrants for Theft Under $5000 X11, Failing to Comply with Undertaking X2, Utter Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm, and Fail to Comply with a Release Order.
As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrants and further charged with:
- Theft Under $5000
- Fail to Comply with Undertaking
The accused is also currently bound by an undertaking with the following condition: to not attend the store at which the incident occurred.
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, March 13, 2026.
Theft Arrest
A 25-year-old Brampton man is facing a charge in connection with a theft in progress call Thursday evening.
At approximately 8:40pm on March 12, 2026, officers with the Community F.I.R.S.T Unit responded to a call for service about a theft in progress at a business in the Lansdowne Street and Park Street area. Upon arrival, officers located a man matching the description given to police walking eastbound on Lansdowne Street. They took him into custody and recovered an item from the business. Officers further learned that the man was wanted in another jurisdiction for failing to comply with an undertaking.
As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old Brampton man was arrested and charged with:
- Theft Under $5000
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, March 13, 2026.
