Theft/Warrant Arrest
A 46-year-old Peterborough woman wanted on warrants is facing new charges after an incident Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 4:30pm on March 26, 2026, officers with the Community F.I.R.S.T Unit were called to a theft in progress at a business in the Charlotte Street and Aylmer Street area. Upon arrival, officers located a woman matching the description given to police outside the business. During the investigation it was learned that the woman was wanted for theft under $5000, failing to comply with probation order and failing to attend for fingerprints.
As a result, a 46-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested on the strength of the warrants and further charged with:
- Theft Under $5000
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, March 27, 2026.
Motor Vehicle Collision
The driver of a GO Bus was charged under the Highway Traffic Act for Careless Driving after a collision with a vehicle.
The collision happened around 9:55pm on March 26, 2026, at the intersection of High Street and Lansdowne Street. There were about 20 passengers on the bus and a driver in the second vehicle. No one was injured.
