Robbery Arrest
Two Peterborough men are facing charges in connection with a targeted incident Saturday night.
At approximately 11:50pm on May 10, 2025, officers were called to a residence in the Park Street North and Wolfe Street area about a disturbance. Upon arrival officers learned that two men had entered the home, pointed a shotgun at two people in a bedroom before the gun went off and the men fled the scene. No one was physically injured.
On Thursday, May 15, 2025, officers with Investigative Services conducted three search warrants in the City of Peterborough.
Officers seized:
- Shotgun ammunition
- Two pellet guns
- 10.4 grams of Cocaine
- 7.1 grams of Fentanyl
- 3.5 grams of Psilocybin (mushrooms)
- Some counterfeit bills
As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged on with:
- Robbery using a Firearm
- Break and Enter - Commit indictable offence
- Pointing a Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Careless use of firearm
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court May 15, 2025.
An 18-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Robbery using a Firearm
- Break and Enter - Commit indictable offence
- Pointing a Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Careless use of firearm

Fraud Incidents
The Peterborough Police Service is issuing a warning after a two reports of fraud involving a request for help to stop hackers.
The incidents happened in the last three weeks in the City of Peterborough. In each case, the victim was approached by someone claiming to be connected to Microsoft or Bell Canada and that they needed the victim’s help stopping hackers who were trying to access the victim's computer or bank accounts. The scammers indicate there is an urgency to the matter and the victim needs to get money out of their bank as soon as possible so an “agent” can come to their house to pick up the cash. Between the two incidents about $25,000 was lost.
The man who picked up the money in both cases was described to police as:
- Male, Asian
- Approximately 5’6 -5’7
- Between 20 and 30 years old
- Dark Hair
- Clean cut
- Well dressed
