Impaired Arrest
A 45-year-old Peterborough man is facing impaired charges after an incident Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 2:45pm on May 1, 2025, officers were called to the area of George Street North and Murray Street. Upon arrival, officers were directed to a vehicle partially stopped in a live lane. While speaking with the driver, officers noticed signs of impairment.
As a result, a 45-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code
During the investigation it was learned that the driver was a prohibited driver.
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court June 10, 2025.
Warrant Arrest
A 55-year-old Peterborough man wanted on a warrant is facing a new charge.
At approximately 1:00 am on Friday, May 2, 2025, officers were called to a building in the Brock Street and Aylmer Street about an unwanted person. Upon arrival, officers located a man matching the description given to police in an apartment. It was further learned that the man was wanted on a warrant for failing to comply with probation X3.
As a result, a 55-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrant and further charged with:
- Failure to comply with probation
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition: to not attend the property on which they were located.
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, May 2, 2025.
