Theft Arrests

A couple in their 20’s is facing multiple charges after information about a series of thefts at a Peterborough business  was brought forward.

Officers with the Community FIRST Unit were made aware of a significant number of incidents between January and June of 2024 while the suspects were employed by the business.  After reviewing the information provided, the officers located the suspects and they came to the police station on Thursday, November 14, 2024, to turn themselves in.

As a result of the investigation:

A 25-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000 X19

A 27-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000 X16

The accused were released on an undertaking and are scheduled to appear in court November 24, 2024.

 

 

Robbery Suspects Sought

The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after an incident Thursday afternoon.

At approximately 4:15pm on November 14, 2024, officers were called to a business in the Milroy Drive and Chemong Road area about a robbery.  Upon arrival, officers learned that a male and female had entered a store, tried to leave with some items and became aggressive with the owner when asked to leave.  During the incident, the owner was verbally threatened, threatened with a broken bottle, and had to hold the store door closed to prevent the suspect from coming back in before they left the plaza.  There was about $600 in damage to items in the store. No one was injured in the incident.

The suspects were described to police as:

Suspect #1:

  • White male
  • Curly hair 
  • Approximately 6 foot
  • Grey Hoody and grey sweatpants

Suspect #2:

  • White Female 
  • Brown hair 
  • Approximately 5 foot and 4 inches 
  • Green sweatpants 
  • Grey t-shirt with patches attached to the shirt
